LUNDY GOAL SINKS HIGHLANDERS, 1-0
Manhattan Defeats NJIT In Non-League Action

NEWARK, N.J. – Manhattan College snapped a seven-match losing streak with a 1-0 victory over host New Jersey Institute of Technology in non-conference men’s soccer action Tuesday evening at Lubetkin Field.

During the game’s 65th minute, Manhattan’sBrian Lundy (Pearl River, NY/Nanuet) settled a corner kick and got off a shot which was deflected by an NJIT defender. Lundy was the first man to get to the rebound, took two touches and snuck a low shot inside the near post.

NJIT’s best scoring chance came in the 81st minute when Adam Gross (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny) ran onto a long pass and had a shot from the right side blocked in a one-on-one situation.

Jasper goalkeeper Collin Leaver (Encinitas, CA/La Costa) made five saves in his second shutout of the season. Collin Cunning (Belfast, ME/Belfast Area) had five saves for the 0-10 Highlanders.
